NOTE
Each state’s register shows slightly different information. The state pages list the exact outcomes for each.
Teacher regulation is handled state by state, and the systems don’t line up. New South Wales accredits teachers through the NSW Education Standards Authority rather than registering them. Victoria renews registration every year, by 30 September. Queensland, Tasmania and the Northern Territory run a five-year registration cycle kept current by an annual fee. South Australian registration runs for up to five years and expires in January.
Queensland also approves teachers under Permission to Teach, and Victoria has Permission to Teach as a limited authorisation. The state pages explain what each register returns.
On our monitored plans, we monitor the register every month and alert you to a lapse or a new condition, including for teachers already on staff. On the Verified plan, it’s a point-in-time verification you can re-run whenever you choose.
Every reference sits alongside the person’s other verifications in Kinatico Compliance, so all the evidence behind a hiring decision is in one place.
