COMPLIANCE VERIFICATIONS
Criminal history verifications are applied for online and delivered securely. Kinatico is an ACIC accredited organisation with direct access to the National Police Checking Service.
A police check, a police clearance, a criminal history check and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check are, for most employment purposes, the same thing. The document is issued from the same national source and shows the same information.
What changes is why you need it. A police check is a requirement for many roles, a risk decision for others, and a renewal obligation in sectors where it has to be re-run on a cycle. The requirement is simple. Run it across your workforce, to keep the results current, and be able to show an auditor what you held and when, is the part that takes the time.
Order once, or set them up to re-run on a cadence that suits your organisation.
What a police check does and does not tell you
An Australian National Police Check reports a person’s disclosable court outcomes, which may include convictions and pending charges from all relevant Australian police jurisdictions. Kinatico submits the application to the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission and returns the result as a structured document stored against the worker.
It does not include everything. Some traffic convictions and some interstate matters sit outside what is disclosed, and spent convictions are governed by separate legislation in each jurisdiction. It also has no bearing on whether a person holds a current Working with Children Check or NDIS Worker Screening clearance, which are separate schemes with separate outcomes.
The other limit is time. A police verification describes a person on the day it was issued. Sectors that require one every three years require it for that reason, and a re-verification cadence is the practical way to stay on top of it.
You add the candidate
Their name and email. Most other fields are pre-filled from their identity record in Kinatico Compliance.
They complete it on their phone
Address history, any other names used or held, and their identity documents. The candidate does their own verification, so you are not chasing paperwork.
The result lands in your dashboard
A structured result stored against the worker, with the date it was run.
An ACIC accredited organisation
Kinatico is entrusted with direct access to the National Police Checking Service and plays a part in helping safeguard the Australian community. Applications go to the ACIC, not through a reseller.
Trusted brand
Kinatico Compliance is powered by Kinatico CVCheck, which has doing National Police Checks since its inception in 2004. Over the past two decades we have serviced over 23,000 organisations across Australia and New Zealand.
One record, one place
Every result is stored against the worker with the date it was run, ready to export. No chasing PDFs out of inboxes when an auditor asks.
Your people hold their own documents
Workers upload and control their own identity documents. Only the result comes to you, held securely onshore in Australia.
For employment purposes, nothing meaningful. A National Police Check is also called a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check or a police check. They describe the same verification.
No. National police checks in Australia cannot be used for immigration, visa or IVF applications. In those instances an Australian Federal Police (AFP) Check must be obtained.
No. Working with children clearances are issued by state and territory schemes with their own assessments and their own outcomes. Order both where the role requires both.
A police verification has no expiry date of its own. It describes the person on the day it was issued. Most organisations set their own re-verification cadence — often annual or quarterly. Kinatico Compliance prompts you when one is due.
No. The candidate completes their own verification and uploads their own documents. Only the result comes to you.
