Most register searches confirm someone isn’t listed. This one confirms they are, so not being listed is the result to worry about. 

Representatives acting under a licence, auditors and liquidators all need to appear on the right register to do the work. For authorised and credit representatives, the record also shows the licensee that authorises them.

  • AFS licensees and authorised representatives, credit licensees and representatives, registered company auditors, authorised audit companies and SMSF auditors, and registered and official liquidators. 

  • It covers advisers who are authorised representatives. Financial advisers who are employees of a licensee, rather than authorised representatives, may not appear on these registers. 

  • No. It searches ASIC’s current Professional Registers. Historical registers from before the Financial Services Reform changes stay on ASIC Connect and aren’t included. 

  • This confirms someone is on a professional register. The ASIC Financial Regulatory Screen confirms someone isn’t on a banning or disqualification register.
